Nach einer umfassenden Modernisierung erstrahlt er nun in neuem Glanz. Nachdem die Empfangshalle bereits 2011 renoviert wurde, begann im zweiten Halbjahr 2017 der Umbau der restlichen Verkehrsstation. Rechtzeitig zur Fu\u00dfball-Europameisterschaft 2024 in Deutschland empf\u00e4ngt der modernisierte Bahnhof nun Fans und G\u00e4ste in Dortmund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Modernisierungsprojekt umfasste eine Vielzahl von Ma\u00dfnahmen, die auf Barrierefreiheit und eine kundenfreundliche, moderne Gestaltung abzielten. Der urspr\u00fcnglich 9,5 m breite Personentunnel wurde auf 13,2 m erweitert und erhielt ein helles, freundliches Ambiente, um ein Gef\u00fchl von Weite zu erzeugen. Im Zentrum des Tunnels erm\u00f6glichen neue Aufz\u00fcge einen stufenfreien Zugang zu den Bahnsteigen. Jeder Bahnsteig ist nun \u00fcber breite Treppen und Fahrtreppen erreichbar, die an den neuen Gegebenheiten des erweiterten Tunnels angepasst wurden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die acht Bahnsteige selbst wurden ebenfalls neu gebaut oder saniert. Dies umfasst die Erneuerung der Bodenbel\u00e4ge, Lichttechnik und Beschallungsanlagen. Dar\u00fcber hinaus wurden die meisten Bahnsteige auf eine H\u00f6he von 76 cm \u00fcber der Schienenoberkante angehoben, um einen stufenfreien Einstieg in die Z\u00fcge zu erm\u00f6glichen. Eine Ausnahme bildet der Bahnsteig 3, der die H\u00f6he von 96 cm beibeh\u00e4lt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zus\u00e4tzlich tragen ein neues Wegeleitsystem, moderne Informationstafeln sowie neue D\u00e4cher und Wetterschutzh\u00e4user zu einem angenehmeren Aufenthalt im Bahnhof bei. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-dbec-core-layout-grid  layout-grid layout-grid--outer-margin-small layout-grid--expanded\"><div class=\"grid grid--child-margin-small\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-dbec-core-layout-column  column is-6-small is-3-medium column--expanded\"><div class=\"layout-column\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-dbec-core-layout-text  wp-block-dbec-core-layout-text--expanded\"><div class=\"layout-column layout-column--text\">\n<p>Au\u00dferdem ist die Verkn\u00fcpfungshalle zur Stadtbahn-Verteilebene im s\u00fcdlichen Abschnitt des Bahnhofs durch den Einbau eines neuen Aufzugs stufenfrei zu erreichen, was kurze Umsteigezeiten erm\u00f6glicht und die Barrierefreiheit gew\u00e4hrleistet. Auch die Nordverkn\u00fcpfung, die den Personentunnel mit der Stadtbahn verbindet, erhielt eine Neugestaltung. Breite Treppen, Fahrtreppen und ein neuer Aufzug sorgen hier f\u00fcr einen komfortablen Zugang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die gesamten Modernisierungsarbeiten fanden w\u00e4hrend des laufenden Betriebs statt, wobei nur der jeweils betroffene Bahnsteig gesperrt wurde, um die Beeintr\u00e4chtigungen f\u00fcr Reisende m\u00f6glichst zu minimieren.
