In mid-November of 2019, Thelo DB, a joint venture of DB Engineering & Consulting, was represented at two major events in Africa.

Thelo DB At the Africa Investment Forum in the South Africa

At the Africa Investment Forum in the South African city of Johannesburg, the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Afreximbank, one of the largest banks in Africa, received special recognition.

The MoU laid out an extensive strategic cooperative effort to implement major railway infrastructure projects. Ronnie Ntuli, Chairman of the Management Board of Thelo DB said, „Through this critically important relationship, we are able to offer to the continent, not only the best technical solutions for the railway sector but also introduce financing solutions to finance railway projects across the continent.” In-depth discussions were held with the African Development Bank as well.

The Africa Investment Forum is the continent’s largest conference on financing for infrastructure projects, among others, drawing more than 1,000 attendees every year.

The Logistics Solutions transport conference was held in the Ethiopian city of Addis Ababa in mid-November as well. The conference is held twice a year in Ethiopia, supplementing the Rail Summit, and is a forum where political leaders from the country’s transport ministry and service providers come together. At Logistics Solutions, Thelo DB signed an MoU with Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) to provide comprehensive support relating to shadow operator service; creating a regulatory agency; increasing the efficiency of rail and transport operations; and establishing a Rail Academy.
