Since its founding in 2016, DB E&C has come a long way. What started as a vision has grown into a company that connects people and markets. Today, DB E&C plans and delivers infrastructure projects across the entire value chain – from consulting and design to implementation and operations – across Germany, Europe, and globally.
At the heart of this success are not just the projects, but the people behind them. Across disciplines, generations, and locations, a strong network has emerged – one that lives in collaboration and continues to evolve. This shared mindset has been the foundation of the past ten years.
A strong network across locations
This development is reflected in a wide range of landmark projects. The overhaul of the Riedbahn corridor has set an important benchmark for modernizing rail infrastructure. At the same time, projects such as the ICE maintenance facility in Cologne-Nippes, the modernization of Duisburg Central Station, and Munich’s second main line strengthen key transport hubs in Germany. Major initiatives such as VDE 8 (Berlin–Nuremberg), the Fehmarn Belt link, and Rail Baltica underscore the importance of modern, high-performance infrastructure across Europe.
Beyond Europe, DB E&C contributes its expertise to projects such as the Doha Metro in Qatar and the Al Haramain high-speed railway in Saudi Arabia. The design centers in India and Romania, established early on after the company’s founding, underscore the commitment to globally connected engineering and cross-border collaboration.
Responsibly shaping the future
Innovation and responsibility go hand in hand. Through environmental and geoservices, rail projects are planned to minimize environmental impact, with mitigation measures considered from the outset. This is exemplified by projects such as the Neufahrn North Curve, where dedicated habitats for sand lizards were created along a 2.3-kilometer route, successfully enabling their resettlement. In this way, DB E&C contributes to the development of rail infrastructure that is both high-performing and resource-efficient.
The overhaul of the Riedbahn corridor challenged DB E&C across all disciplines and demonstrated how comprehensive modernization can be delivered in record time. 
With projects such as the modernization of Duisburg Central Station, DB E&C demonstrates how modern infrastructure is created through interdisciplinary expertise.
