Digital interlocking technology (DSTW) modernizes railway infrastructure, increases capacity, and reduces costs through standardization and the reduction of copper cabling. Connection to the railway operational IP network (bbIP) is provided redundantly via fiber optics down to the trackside level. Decentralized object controllers operate field elements and are powered by a simplified energy supply, which enhances the efficiency and availability of the infrastructure.
