As a global leader in the rail sector for more than 55 years, we export our extensive engineering expertise around the world. Our success story began in 1966 with the construction of the metro in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a major project with a 65 kilometer rail network. We have continued to evolve ever since and have successfully completed numerous notable projects in over 100 countries on every continent.

We adapt our range of products to meet the challenges of the times and apply our proactive approach to innovation. Today, we can look back on many successes in our projects, which have had a major impact on infrastructure, mobility and transportation logistics across the globe. Recent highlights include the rail upgrade and construction project on the line connecting Karlsruhe in Germany and Basel in Switzerland, the installation of digital signaling equipment in the German town of Warnemünde, the European transport project Rail Baltica and the launch of the Sydney Metro.
DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH (DB E&C) as it exists today was founded on April 1, 2016, with the merger of DB ProjektBau and DB International, both subsidiaries of Deutsche Bahn. This step enabled us to pool our expertise and create an even stronger unit. But we didn’t stop there. In 2019, DB E&C became part of the DB E.C.O. Group to strengthen our expertise even further. The group also includes DB International Operations, which focuses on rail operations and maintenance outside Europe.
Today, we take charge of our responsibilities more confidently than ever. As part of the DB E.C.O Group, we work together with DB International Operations, infraView and ESE to harness our combined expertise in the integrated rail system and connect it with digital technologies along the entire value chain. Representing innovation, sustainability and an international outlook, we join forces to bring DB’s sought-after expertise and experience to our customers.
