It was his first official visit to Berlin since taking office in March 2019. The purpose was to promote cooperation between Germany and Kazakhstan and between the European Union and Eurasian Economic Union. The visit concluded with the official signing of a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) for rail, infrastructure and training.
